Offered in this lot is a collection of four African Sand Cast trade bead necklaces. Trade beads were used to purchase African resources by early Europeans. Glass beads were used between the 16th and 20th century. The first three necklaces in this lot are beads of the "Rattlesnake" style. The beads are strung on raffia and measure 26" long. The first has black beads with white and yellow design. The next has red beads with white designs and the last has black beads with white design. The last necklace is made of yellow Sand Cast glass African trade beads with stripes and cross designs. This necklace is 24" and has thirty two beads with measurement of 1/4" to 1/2".
