The horn shows a steer construction with artfully tapering carved tip, domed wood cap and solid brass trade tacks around the end along with tacks securing the harness leather strap to the bag. The bag shows old harness lather with a single strap and old iron buckle. The bag would have held the necessities to fire the Flintlock and later Percussion Musket and the bag was likely used by a frontiersman or fur trapper during the Westward Expansion of the 19th Century. The horn is 12.75”L an the bag hangs 24.5”L.
