This is an unusual scrimshawed steer powder horn which is marked Texicans Remember standing for Remember the Alamo. The horn appears to date to the 19th Century showing a steer horn powder flask or powder horn. The horn shows scrimshaw etching of the Texicans Remember words and a five-point star. The end is highly carved with a faceted tapering finish a truly artful work. The large end is caped with a domed carved wood which is pinned to the horn with copper and has a single iron loop at the top which would have held a strap to secure the piece to the users belt. This flintlock to percussion powder horn shows a nice coloring and is in good condition. Measures 14.75” across by 3.5”.
