Offered in this lot is the pictorial quarto, "Among The Rockies-Pictures of Magnificent Scenes in The Rocky Mountains" published by the H.H. Tammen Curio Co., Denver, Colorado, 1907. This pictorial quarto has thirty five pages with black & white photographs of spectacular scenes of Colorado & Utah seen along the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad. Illustrated with 74 halftone photos. Brown pictorial wrappers bound with a tan cord and with a large oval on the front cover with a hand-colourized onlay of a sunrise and mountain train depot. The rest of the front cover has a lakefront scene depicting Native Americans cooking next to a teepee, a canoe, bow and arrow hunting with the sun rising over a mountain range in the background. The rear cover has a large image of Oglala Lakota Chief Red Cloud. This wonderful book is what today would be known as a "coffee table" book with photos to be enjoyed and spark conversation. This pictorial quarto is in nice condition, intact pages exhibit age tanning and foxing but is in overall good condition for its age. The book measures 11"W x 12.75"L.
