This is an ancient petrified wooly mammoth ivory tusk. This fantastic piece shows the outermost layers of the tusk, including a large portion that has the outer bark. The tusk measures 4.75" wide and 14.25" long. It is estimated the full tusk would have measured over 20" in circumference and exceeded 7' in length. This tusk shows good condition.
