Offered in this lot is a collection of ninety six ancient stone and bone beads. The first three beads in this lot are large stone beads made from Amazonite. Beads like this are from Mali, out of Chad. These beads measure 1 3/4" X 1/2" to 3/4" X 1/2". The next six beads are made of bone. Two of these beads are leaf shaped and the porous nature of the bone can easily be seen on the backside of these beads. The leaf beads are 1" X 3/4". The other four beads are round carved balls. These beads measure 3/8" X 3/8". There is no knowledge to us as to what kind of bone was used to make these beads. The remaining eighty seven beads are of various sizes and shapes. The largest is 3/4" X 5/8" and the smallest is 3/16" X 1/8". These beads are in good to fair condition. There is light wear and damage due to age.
