Offered in this lot we have an Ansonia Clock Co. figural Hermes brass mantle clock originating from the 1880's to the 1910's. The Ansonia Clock Company was founded in 1851 in Ansonia, Connecticut as a clock manufacturing company. They later opened up a secondary factory in New York in 1877 and moved the headquarters to New York in 1878. This clock shows brass construction with a a clock face on the right and a statue of Hermes the Greek messenger god on the left. The piece displays wonderful details and ornate designs across the clock. The face of the clock shows a porcelain and brass face with "Trade Mark A" at the center and "Manufactured by The Ansonia Clock Company New York, United States of America" across the bottom of the face. The piece comes with a key and is in working order. The clock shows good condition overall with some wear and discoloration due to age. The piece measures 17 1/2" wide by 7 1/2" thick and 13 3/4" tall.
