Offered in this lot we have a colored etching of an arched gateway by Robert Kasimir. Kasimir (1914- 2002) is a well known is a Austrian born artist known for his detailed cityscapes and landscape etching as well as his skill in multi-plate colored etchings. The etching shows the image of a open ornate gate underneath a stone archway with a colorful street just beyond the gate. The piece shows wonderful color and detail with excellent contrast between the arch and street that draws the eye. The etching is signed by Robert Kasimir across the bottom of the piece. The piece is set into a gold painted frame with a info tag on the back from Jakab's Art Gallery located in Billings, Montana. This colored etching shows good condition overall.
