Featured in this lot is this pair of Tumbaga and copper, Pacific Northwest style pendant earrings from Lakota artist Armand American Horse (1982-¬). The earrings are Tumbaga constructed and etched and layered in Pacific Northwest style of decoration. Tumbaga is the name for a non-specific alloy of gold and copper, given by Spanish Conquistadors to metals composed of these elements found in widespread use in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica in North America and South America. The condition of these earrings is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this pair of earrings are 2 7/8 x 1 1/8 x 1/4".
