Featured in this lot is this 1977 Atari Video Computer System CX-2600 with nine included games, two race car controllers, four paddle controllers, four joy-stick controllers and a power adapter cord. In September 1977, the Atari Video Computer System, also known as the Atari VCS, was introduced. It was among the first home video game consoles to be commercially successful, popularizing microprocessor-based hardware and games that were installed on interchangeable ROM cartridges. The manufacture part number CX2600 led to the eventual renaming of the Atari VCS as the Atari 2600 Video Computer System, or Atari 2600. This system includes nine games and are as follows - 01 Combat, Missile Command, Video Olympics, 11 Indy 500, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Bowling, Air-Sea Battle and Star Ship. The system shows good cosmetic condition, other than being dusty but hasn't been tested for functionality. Only two games come in their original cases, Air-Sea Battle and Star Ship, the rest do not have the original cases. The console measures 9 1/4" L x 14" W x 3 1/2" H. The games in cases measure 7 1/2" L x 5 1/2" W x 7/8" D, while the uncased games measure 3 7/8" L x 3 1/4" W x 3/4" D. The collection has a collective weight of approximately 11 pounds.
