Featured in this lot is this Australian stock saddle, circa late 1900's. The Saddle is in good condition, with only a little discoloration on the seat. The difference between an Australian saddle and a western saddle is the stirrup position—on the Australian saddle, the stirrups are a little more forward and the seat position is changed, so that the legs are in front of the body. Along with that, the Australian saddle’s front rigging dee is under the fender and it has its off-side billet strap. The Australian saddles have knee pads that help keep the rider in the saddle. Although Australian stock saddles usually don't have horns, this particular saddle does. The condition of this saddle is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this saddle are approximately 21" x 19" x 33" with the seat size of 12".
