This item is a lovely Baccarat crystal horse head statue. Throughout its history, Baccarat crystal came to grace the tables of King Louis XVIII, King Charles X, Louis-Philippe, Emperor Napoleon III, and many of the French presidents. By the end of the 19th century, Baccarat had earned the reputation of being the “Crystal of Kings.” This piece is impressively crafted and is etched with "Baccarat-Tauni de Lesseps" on the underside of the neck. It is numbered 199/250. Countess de Lesseps was a French sculptor and painter. The item measures11" x 12" x 3.75". Comes with original box.
