Featured in this lot is this Signed 1925 First Edition of "Bears in the Yellowstone" by M.P. Skinner, A. C. McClurg & Co., publishers Chicago, personalized signature on front endpaper. The book is about the living patterns of the bears of Yellowstone. This book has sections covering the types of animals seen in Yellowstone, what bears eat and drink, how bears live, their lives in the wild, and mother bears with cubs. Time has certainly changed our treatment of bears in our parks, but this book gives us a glimpse of how it was in the 1920s. Milton Philo Skinner was the first chief naturalist for Yellowstone National Park, as well as a scientist and educator, who worked for Yellowstone National Park, its concessioners, and its government partners in a variety of positions over more than thirty years. This green cloth bound gold gilt stamped illustrated hardcover is in nice condition, scuffing exhibited to cover edges. Intact pages are clean, age tanning throughout, spine detached from pages but still attached to book. Measures 5.5"W x 8"L x .75"D, weight 12 oz.
