Presented here is "Before The River Rises", Signed Giclée by Martin Grelle, Limited Edition 77/95, certificate of authenticity (COA) included. Strong sunlight belies the coming storm. From the heavy, tumultuous look of the cloud band, the skies are about to open and empty a torrential downpour on the landscape. The braves hurry to cross a stream - a stream that will become a raging river in only a few moments. Lush scenery, full of vibrant colours and immense detail typifies Grelle's talent. Grelle's work reaches far beyond his Texas home conveying the spirit, drama, beauty and vastness of the American West. Whether painting a Native American in a dramatic setting or a working cowboy on the range, he captures the essence of the West in his historically-accurate, picturesque, peaceful, yet compelling, art. He is proud of the Native American part of his ancestry and studies diligently to portray their culture accurately and sensitively. He was invited into membership with the CAA (Cowboy Artists of America) in 1995. Martin Grelle is at the top of the Western art market. His paintings are increasing in value rapidly, and one sold recently for $406,000 at the Prix de West Invitational in Oklahoma City. It set a new record for his work. Grelle was also the featured artist at the C.M. Russell Museum show in Great Falls where his "Crows on the Yellowstone" brought $150,000 at auction. This giclée is in very beautiful condition, professionally mounted in a rustic wood frame. Visible art measures 29"W x 39"L, frame is 36.5"W x 46.5"L x 2.5"D, weight is 14lb, 2oz.
