Featured in this lot is this Benjamin Gil Garcia Saddlery contractor bridle bit, circa 1950's. The bit shows wonderful craftsmanship consistent with the construction coming out of the Garcia. The bridle shows a wonderful bluing to the inside of the shanks; it also features a bluing engraved name, "Sankey", the contractor’s name, and shows the same engraving on the inside of the right shank. The bridle bit shows the original saddlery tag. The bridle bit features a wide port curb bit design and a semi straight shank. The shanks are profusely decorated with silver overlay and include floral decoration throughout. The condition of this bridle bit is good, with no obvious signs of damage and showing oxidation consistent with the age of the bit. The measurements of this bridle bit are 8" x 5 5/8" x 2 1/8".
