Featured in this lot is framed, limited edition numbered print done by Bev Doolittle titled, "When the Wind Had Wings", done in 1994. Bev Doolittle is one of the most collected artists in America. Known for her “camouflage artwork”, in which the background composition comes together to form a hidden image, most of her art has a western motif and focuses on the link between man and nature. Doolittle attended art school in Los Angeles where she met her husband. Working for several years as an art director for an advertising agency in LA, she began to crave the outdoors and wanted to get away from the city to get more in tune with nature. The book "New Magic" begins where the first book left off-at the start of an exciting period in the artists life. After "The Art of Bev Doolittle" was published, Bev had what she called “a kind of vision.” She found herself traveling new paths, exploring new ideas, and finding adventure in both the public arena and the wilderness. Concerned about endangered species and wildlife habitats, Doolittle saw her mission and started to paint it, In her most recent works of art she creates the wild, gorgeous world of nature and through her magic, draws in all of us to celebrate the wonder of life. This print is wonderfully and professionally crafted and shows a faint heard of horses slowly coming into focus and shifting into a flock of birds. The artist signature is shown in the bottom right hand corner and is numbered 44,462 out of 57,500. It is set in a silver colored frame and is matted twice with beige and tan matting paper. The piece shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. The visible artwork measures 6" L x 45 3/8" W, while the entire piece measures 11 3/4 L x 50 3/4" W x 7/8" D. It weighs 6 pounds and 4 ounces.
