The lot features an Elk antler, leather, and hide riding quirt attributed to the Blackfoot/Blackfeet Native American Indians. The piece features a polished or ground flat Rocky Mountain Elk antler tine, which holds two long harness saddle commercial leather strips held into place with metal brass covered tacks and a wrapping of red cloth with hide lacing. The antler has a Buffalo Indian tanned hide wrist throng. The handle or antler is decorated on both sides with a drilled (punctured or engraved) spotted pattern. The age of the piece is unknown, but it appears to be from the late 20th Century. Measures overall 36.5"L with the antler being 11"L.
