The lot features an original circa 1890 Blackfoot (Blackfeet) Native American Indian skullcracker stone head war club. The war club shows a wood haft that has been covered in an Indian tanned hide and accented by the "crazy" multi-colored random beaded design in all period correct glass trade petit seed beadwork. The beadwork shows colors such as chalk white, red white heart, greasy yellow, cobalt, black, and medium green. The gripping area shows a wrapping of parfleche rawhide and the base has an excellent long drop of hand cut Indian tanned hide fringe. The head shows a bi-pointed constructed of a hard solid stone, is secured to the haft with a wrap of parfleche rawhide which runs through the shallow groove that has been carved into the center ridge of the stone. The piece shows an overall good condition for its age and displays very well. Measures overall 23.5 inches long with an additional 14 inch long fringe. The head is 6"x2.25"x2.5".
