For your bidding pleasure is this tribal Boar Tusk and Bird Wing war club dance wand. This ceremonial wand is comprised of a shaft split at the end and fashioned into a loop at one end by wrapping a sinew twin around the entire length of the shaft. At the other end of the wand are four boar tusks fastened with a monkey knot with two dried and cured bird wings. The type of bird is unknown but the significance of the boar tusks is very powerful with symbolism of prosperity, spiritual strength, organization, self-reliance, and fearlessness. The wild boar was introduced in North America during the 1500's, so the cultural influence wasn't as strong as other animals but many Native people saw the boar for its strength to frighten their enemies and empower the community. The measurements of this wand are 16" x 7" x 6 1/4".
