Featured in this lot is a bronze sculpture called " Bull Durham Cowboy," circa 1986, from Montana artist Bob Scriver, who was born in 1914 and died in 1999. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that shows a cowboy sitting on a bench putting tobacco into a rolling paper with a hat on his head and wearing a vest. The bronze is marked as follows: Bull Durham Cowboy - Bob Scriver - 1986 - 165/250 - Bronze. The plaque is marked as follows: "Bull Durham Cowboy" - Bob Scriver. Robert Macfie Scriver (1914-1999) was born in Browning, Montana (in the heart of the Blackfoot Indian Reservation) in 1914. Scriver began sculpting using taxidermy to learn his craft of making wildlife bronzes. By 1962, he became a charter member of the Society of Animal Artists and was accepted into the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America. He is also listed in Who’s Who in American Art, and a member of the National Sculpture Society, and the National Academy of Western Art. The overall condition of this bronze sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this bronze sculpture are 11 1/2" x 7" x 7 7/8". The collective weight of this bronze sculpture is 14lb 6oz.*
