The necklace is wonderfully and professionally crafted platinum construction that shows a 'Oscar Freidman' and shows a 'PT950' mark next to the hallmark. The center stone is is a pear cut tanazanite stone that measures 15.56 x 10.06 x 7.34mm and shows a blueish violet coloration and a total weight of 8.32 carats. The centerstone is profusely decorated by a total of 62 round brilliant cut diamonds that shows a clarity of VS2 - SI2 and a coloration of G - H and a total weight of 2.38 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite.
