Featured in this lot is a British 1855 pattern short sword from the Land Transport Corps. The sword displays a 22 1/2" long single-edged blade with a solid brass grip and guard. The blade features a single cutting edge and retains various British proof marks at the base of the blade. The handle shows solid brass construction with the handle, pommel, and guard one single piece. The piece shows good condition overall, with a warm patina across the blade and handle and some light wear. The piece measures 28 1/4" long with a 22 1/2" long blade.
