Featured in this lot is an original cast bronze sculpture titled "Mace" by Guillaume Deniere, originating from the mid to late 1800's. Guillaume Deniere (1815- 1901), born Guillaume Deninger, was a French bronze worker, manufacturer, and banker. The bronze displays a standing woman in a flowing gown, holding a water filled vase and a cherub at her feet. The woman is depicted pouring out the vase of water towards the cherub figure. The statue features a wonderful design and attention to detail. The base of the piece is marked "Deniere - Mace" across the bottom. The statue shows its original black base and bronze bottom. The piece shows good condition overall, with little to no wear. The piece measures 12 1/2" tall, with the base measuring 5 1/4" in diameter.
