Featured in this lot is this silver gelatin photograph of Buck Jones born in 1891 and died in 1942 as a publicity or promotional photograph for his role in "Empty Saddles" dated from 1931. The photograph feaetures a wonderfully and professionally crafted silver gelatin construction that shows Buck Jones in "Empty Saddles" character holding his revolver with his right hand and has his left hand behind him in a clearing inside of a thicket of trees and against a boulder to his right. The silver gelatin is marked on the front as follows: B.J. - 9-32-31. Buck Jones (1891–1942), born Charles Frederick Gebhart, was a leading figure in early Western cinema, admired for his authenticity, stunt work, and commanding screen presence. A former cavalryman and rodeo performer, Jones brought real-life cowboy experience to his film roles, which helped make him a standout star during the 1920s and 1930s. Among his many memorable films, he starred in Empty Saddles (1936), portraying Buck Roberts, a cowboy who uncovers a rustling operation while seeking justice for a friend's murder. The film highlighted Jones's blend of action, integrity, and quiet intensity, reinforcing his reputation as a dependable and charismatic Western hero. The condition of this silver gelatin is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this framed silver gelatin is 23 1/4" x 20 3/8" and the visible silver gelatin is 8 1/2" x 5 3/4". The collective weight of this framed silver gelatin is 6lb 10oz
