Available in this lot we have a genuine hand braided cowboy horse hair mecate originating from the early to mid 1900's. The Mecate displays dark brown coloration with black strands mixed in sporadically. The piece shows hand braided Horse tail hair construction with a short leather tassel on one end and it tied in a knot in the other. The leather tassel is marked "Champion Los Andeles, Cal Turf". The Mecate shows good condition overall with some light wear due to age. The rope measures approximately 23" long by 1/2" thick.
