Featured in this lot is a Frederic Remington, bronze sculpture titled "Buffalo Signal". Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 – December 26, 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer who specialized in depictions of the American Old West. The statue depicts a Native American hunter on the back of a horse as he holds up a buffalo hide as a signal. The figure displays Remington's wonderful, realistic art style with wonderful, excellent attention to detail. The piece is marked across the front, reading "Copyright Frederic Remington", and shows a wonderful, warm patina. The statue is set on a green marble base. The bronze shows good condition, overall. It measures 20 1/2" long by 10 1/4" wide and 30 1/2" tall.
