Included in this lot we have the "Bull & Bear" bronze sculpture by George Gardet. Gardet, born October 11th 1863, was a French Sculptor and animalier, known for his life like sculptures of animals and wild life. He created many great works in his life, including "Drama of the desert" displayed in the Parc Montsouris in Paris France, the lions at the Jardin du Luxembourg and the lions on the Pont Alexandre III, both in Paris. He passed away on February 6th 1939. This sculpture features intricately sculpted bull and bear mid fight on a black marble base with a brass plaque the reads "Bull & Bear - By Gardet". It shows the bull charging with its head down at the bear who is on the ground attempting to wrestle the bull down. The sculpture shows good condition with no signs of damage, or repair. The piece measures 16" long by 5" wide by 9" tall overall, and the base measures 16 3/4" long by 7 1/2" wide.
