Featured in this lot is this Crystal Palace Tombstone, Arizona Territory roulette table made by the George Mason & Co. in circa 1870-1880 and used in the Crystal Palace Saloon from its inception as the Golden Eagle Brewery in circa 1879 and bought out of the Crystal Palace around 1918 and displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The roulette table features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows a table with turn stretcher and double pedestal base having claw feet and a felt plain surface with a large 31" wheel with marquetry inlay and beautiful veneer paneling The center wheel shows a silver column with the insignia of Mason & Co. The table comes with two white pills with the table. The table features an original museum placard that reads as follows: Crystal Palace 1880's Roulette Table Bought out of the Crystal Palace around 1918. The Crystal Palace Saloon in Tombstone, Arizona, was one of the most prominent and elegant establishments in the town during the 1880s. Located at the corner of Allen and Fifth Streets, it played a central role in the social and political life of Tombstone during its silver boom years. Originally, the building was the Golden Eagle Brewery, established around 1879. After a fire in May 1882 destroyed much of downtown Tombstone (including the brewery), the building was reconstructed and renamed The Crystal Palace Saloon. The Crystal Palace was not just a saloon—it also served as a restaurant, billiard hall, and even had office spaces upstairs, including law offices and the headquarters for the Tombstone Epitaph newspaper for a time. The condition of this roulette table is very well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a good well preserved condition. The measurements of this roulette table is 95" x 60" x 44" H. TT97 This roulette table comes with provenance letter provided by the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum and reads as follows: This 1880's roulette wheel and table came from the world famous Crystal Palace on the corner of 5th and Allen street in Tombstone. The fore-runner of the Crystal Palace was the Golden Eagle Brewery Saloon. This table was purchased out of the Crystal Palace by Nick Gregovich around 1915. Nick's widow sold it to my father, Tony Shaieb, Sr. in the 70's and I have had it since his death last year.
