The lot features a set of circa 1890-1900’s Lakota Sioux beaded hide moccasins with hard soles. The set shows an Indian tanned Buffalo Bison hide with sinew sewn hard sole parfleche rawhide bottoms and period correct glass trade seed beadwork that is also sinew sewn along the entire top, sides and back. The sinew sewn beadwork shows a geometric pattern with greasy red centers having faceted metal crosses at the center and border in greasy sky padre blue, greasy green, greasy yellow and faceted metal. The set has a medium height ankle and long tongue. The bottoms have a very nice foot worn patina and the set is well preserved with little bead loss and some small old repairs, all from honest authentic age and use. Provenance: From a large Cowboy and Antique collection in Butte, Montana. Each measures 10.5”L soles by 4”W by 2.75”H ankle. Nice full size men’s moccasins from the late 19th turn of the century.
