The beadwork is all 19th Century period correct glass trade seed beads showing a chalk white with pattern in red white heart, semi-transparent green, lilac, and cobalt all sinew sewn. The set shows a medium height ankle with fold over and square Indian hide tongue. The Indian hide supple bottoms are covered with parfleche rawhide hard soles which have some wear spots and heavily foot worn pattern. Provenance: The set is from the estate ex-collection of James Schwickert of Hartford, Wisconsin and found to be an authentic early antique Sioux examples by the experts at Hindman and Cowan’s. The condition is overall well preserved considering their early age, some bead loss (which nicely shows the sinew) soft supple hide, with the soles having some wear spots, the rears having some separation and wear spots and some thread loss at the rear of the ankle fold over, but currently display well and are in well kept condition.
