Featured in this lot are Forty-eight (48) Photo Postcards and photographs of Montana, circa 1890-1950s. The majority of the photo postcards are pre-1920, a mere thirty plus years after achieving statehood. Mostly black and white, a few of the photo postcards are hand-colourized, a photographic practice that was in its infancy notably made famous by the Haynes Studio of Yellowstone National Park and St. Paul, MN. Images are of many small Montana towns and scenes including Superior, Glasgow, Plentywood, Shelby, Cut Bank, Pompey's Pillar, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park. and the Frederic Remington painting, "End of the Day". The photo postcards are in good condition, a number are personalized with cancelled postage stamps. Measurement averages 3.5"W x 5.5"L
