Offered in this lot is a circa 1897 4" bench vice from Jacobson Machine MFG CO. Warren, PA . The company was founded about 1897 by Charles Jacobson. They manufactured gas engines ca. 1897-1915, and machinists' vises until selling that product line to Rock Island Manufacturing Co. in 1907. Their vises included the John R. Long patent Universal Friction Swivel Vise and Friction Swivel Bottom Vise. Closed this vice measures 18" x 7 1/2" x 8" with a 11" tightening bar, the grips on the vice measure' x 1". This vice is in very good condition with no signs of damage or rust.
