Featured in this lot is an original circa 1910 photogravure on tissue called " A Quinault Type" by American photographer, Edward S. Curtis, who was born in 1868 and died in 1952. This photograph is wonderfully and professionally crafted photogravure on tissue that shows a Native woman nude from the waist up with her hair shown low and a cedar bark fringe skirt. The photogravure is marked as follows: From copyright photograph 1910 by E. S. Curtis - A Quinault Type. The photogravure is marked with slight information about the photograph hand written on the backing paper. The condition of this photogravure on tissue shows well preserved stature. There is some slight wear to the frame in small sections, but otherwise there are no obvious signs of damage to the photograph. The measurements of this framed photograph are 12 7/8"L x 10 3/8"W, and the visible photograph measures 8 3/8"L x 4 1/2"W.*
