For your consideration is this large aerial photo of the Columbia River Spruce Mill in Vancouver, Washington circa 1915-1920. The photo shows a large panoramic view of the Columbia River Spruce Mill, showing solider housing mostly on the left side of the photo and the production buildings on the right side. The soldier housing shows plain white tents set in rows throughout the whole complex. There is a railroad running through the center of the mill, with boxcars being loaded with spruce wood to be sent to aircraft plants for wartime production. At the end of the war, the Army Air Service established a presence at the field, teaming up with federal and state fire officials to begin aerial fire patrols and forest fire spotting, as well as conducting routine air-mail service and providing a training ground for young pilots. On the bottom left of the of the photo it reads, "Largest aerial cut-up plant in the world", while the bottom right reads, "Photo by Demonlrum". The photo shows good condition overall with some tears on the far sides of the photo. The photo is set on a large piece of foam board and plastic wrapped. The photo measures 7 7/8" L x 48 3/4" W.
