The lot features a circa 1915 tin embossed American Gentleman Shoe sign from Austin, Nevada. The sign reads "American Gentleman Shoe Co. Keep The Quality Up America's Finest Footwear Makers John A. Crescenzo" and faintly “Sold by / AUSTIN, NEV”. In the lower right corner is "Stelad Signs, Passaic Metal ware Co., NJ" Above John A. Crescenzo very faded is "Sold by" and below is "Austin Nev.". The Crescenzo family goes back to 1864 in Austin Nevada. The sign is in black, red, and white. The sign has six small holes for mounting one in each corner and one in top and bottom center. The sign show wear with bends, rust and fadeing to be expected from use and age. The sign measures 20” x 14”.
