Offered in this lot is Margaret Tarrant’s magical illustration "Elfin Chorus". Margaret W. Tarrant (1888 – 1959) was an English illustrator, and children's author, specializing in depictions of fairy-like children and religious subjects. She began her career at the age of 20, and painted and published into the early 1950s. She was known for her children's books, postcards, calendars, and print reproductions. This print has art that is shown measuring 21 3/4" x 18". The print shows a dozen "Elves" playing instruments and singing under the direction of an Elf conductor standing on a mushroom. The print is signed in the lower right corner, the base color is a pale green and the frame is dark wood. The print appears to be in good condition, the frame shows a fair amount of wear.
