Offered for your consideration in this lot is a circa 1920's Red Wing Union Stone Art Co. Red Wing, Minn vase. The Red Wing Company was founded in 1877 and was famous for stoneware crocks and jugs for food and beverage storage. In 1913 Red Wing began producing flower pots and vases, then luncheon and dinnerware, and a wide variety of art pottery. In 1936 the name was changed to Red Wing Pottery from Red Wing Union Stoneware Company, dating this vase as pre 1936. The vase is 10" tall, 4 3/4" across the bottom, and with a 4 3/4" opening at the top. The vase is in the "Cattail Pattern" with eight cattails on each side. The vase has a tan base with a green wash over it. The vase has a blue ink stamp on the bottom that reads, "Red Wing Union Stone Art Co. Red Wing Minn.". The vase is in good condition with very minor nicks around and inside the mouth.
