The collection consists of eleven (11) written or typed pieces of correspondence including: four (4) the State of Montana Board of Sheep Commissioners, one witha cancelled postage envelope; one (1) the Territory of Montana Board of Stock Growers written a year prior to statehood; one (1) Board of Stock Comissioners written during the month of statehood admittance; one (1) Montana Stock Growers Association; three (3) Territory of Montana Office of Recoreder of Marks and Brands written prior to statehood; one (1) State of Montana Office of Recoreder of Marks and Brands, three showing images of brands being listed; one (1) 6-page letter from T J Farrell, Breeder of Horses, Cattle & Sheep of Virginia CIty, Montana regarding the need to address estrays (stray livestock). A fantastic collection of territorial and early Montana statehood correspondence.
