The lot features two original Old Faithful by Moonlight circa 1925 calendar tops from Northern Pacific. Both show the “Old Faithful By Moonlight” artwork showing the towering geyser of Yellowstone National Park under the stars and moonlight of the night with the Native American Indians in tipi’s. The piece is marked by the artist R. Atkinson Fox Northern Pacific artist. Robert Atkinson Fox (1860-1935) was an American-Canadian illustrator and naturalist painter whose works have been widely collectible. The larger shows the black border and is titled “As Faithful as Old Faithful” and from Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company Chicago, Illinois. Truly a nice early set showing one with mostly original outside edge and the other with cut down outside edge for framing. Both are lose. The larger measures 19.75” by 12 7/8”. The other is 15.5” by 9.5”.
