The lot features a fantastic circa 1930's to 1940's Jicarilla Apache woven polychrome basket with handle. The nice medium to medium-large size basket shows a gathering basket with tight hand woven coils with accents of yucca root coloring (red) and diamond diagonal patterns in polychrome colors of red, yellow, purple and black. Apache weavings are considered to be some of the finest with this Jucarilla example being a truly wonderful representation showing an intregal woven handleand prominent pattern with nice size overal. The basket is well preservaed with little loss to the weaving in the body and fine colors with slight weaving loss to the handle showing some preserved tapped sections. Truly a fantastic piece that measures 11.75"W by 8.5"W by 14"H.
