Featured in this lot is this "Lane Frost Memorium Study Bronze by Wyoming artist Chris Navarro born 1956. This is a beautiful large heavy bronze from Wyoming artist Chris Navarro and believed to be a study piece before the original which was dedicated on July 26, 1993 and is located at the entrance to the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum in Cheyenne. The bronze shows wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction with great attention to detail to Lane Frost bull riding and to the bull as its bucking. Chris Navarro is a true Wyoming Cowboy, Team Roper, Former Rodeo and Bronco Rider who became a self-educated Award Winning Bronze Sculptor. He has been commissioned throughout the country and has completed 30 bronze monumental sculptures including the monumental bronze in memory of "World Champion Bull Rider Lane Frost" which is located at Frontier Park in Cheyenne, WY. Champion bull rider Lane Frost lost his life at age 25 competing in the 1989 Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo. The condition of this bronze is good with a single patina mark on the base but otherwise in good overall display condition. The measurements of this bronze are 55" x 48" x 21".
