The lot features a beaded pipe bag from the Blackfoot Indians dating to circa 1940-1960’s. The bag is made of old hide and is beaded on both sides with striking and bright colors. One side shows the 8-sided star, which represents a sunburst symbol in Blackfoot lore. The reverse shows a typical geometric pattern. Beadwork is bordering one side and shows a fancy border along the top opening. At the bottom shows some nice hide fringes. Little to no bead loss shown and some slight discoloration. Provenance: From the ex-collection of Tom Hardy Indianapolis, Indiana. Measures 27 inches long by 7 inches wide.
