For your consideration is this Charles M. Russell framed print titled, "When Wagon Trials Were Dim", originally painted in 1919. Charles Marion Russell (1864-1926), also known as C. M. Russell, Charlie Russell, and "Kid" Russell, was an artist of the Old American West. Russell created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States and in Alberta, Canada, in addition to bronze sculptures. When he died in 1926, he had painted some 1,100 watercolors, a vast majority of them depictions of a historic time and place that endure in a timeless present. This print shows a man with a gun, riding a horse and leading a wagon train across the plains. The print is set in a wood frame painted in colors of gold and blue and sits behind glass to preserve its condition. The visible print measures 16 1/8" L x 22 3/4" W, while the entire piece measures 20 1/8" L x 26 3/4" W x 1 1/8" D. It has a total weight of 5 pounds.
