Offered in this lot is a wonderful, circa mid 1900's, large, original painting of a man fishing the Snake River with the Tetons and elk in the background. The painting features a man seen from behind, in waders and a straw cowboy hat, fly-fishing in what is believed to be the snake river. On the far bank are three cow-elk eating in a meadow. Beyond the meadow is timber with Tamarack/Larch just starting to turn golden. Behind the timber is the base of the Tetons just starting. This painting has been professionally double matted and framed. Unfortunately, if there is an artist mark or signature, it is covered by the matting. The lack of seen artist signature does not lessen the impressiveness of this painting. The seen art measures 24" x 18" and the frame measures 33" x 27 ½”. This item is in very good condition, showing no obvious signs of damage.
