For your consideration is this original, large format studio photo of a young girl taken by C.S. Fly in his Tombstone, Arizona Territory studio in the 1880s. Camillus "Buck" Sydney Fly (May 2, 1849 – October 12, 1901) was an Old West photographer who is regarded by some as an early photojournalist and who captured the only known images of Native Americans while they were still at war with the United States. He took many other pictures of life in the silver-mining boom town of Tombstone, Arizona, and the surrounding region. He recognized the value of his photographs to illustrate periodicals of the day and took his camera to the scenes of important events where he recorded them and resold pictures to editors nationwide. This photo shows a young girl in a white dress looking towards the camera as she poses for the photo. She has short hair and is wearing a small bracelet and necklace. The photo is marked on the bottom reading, "Fly / Paris Panel / Tombstone, Arizona". The photo shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The visible photo measures 7 7/8" L x 5 3/4" W, while the entire piece measures 9 3/4" L x 6 3/4" W. It weighs under 6 ounces.
