The lot features a fantastic set of Indian hide and parfleche hard sole base beaded moccasins from the Northern Cheyenne of the Plains dating to circa 1870-1880's. The set shows is comprised of Indian tanned hides with thick parfleche rawhide sole bases with sinew sewn construction and nice geometric glass trade seed bead beadwork. There is some dark patina and some loss to the beads, but overall the set displays nicely. The beads are all 19th-century glass trade seed cen beads showing colors of cobalt, greasy yellow, amber, semi-transparent, semi-transparent dark red, and semi-transparent dark green. The hide has stiffened over the years and set has a nice patina and good foot wear on the base. Each moccasin measures 10.25-inches long across the base by 3.75-inches wide by 2.75-inches high.
