This is an original circa 1879 Cleveland and Mahoning Valley Railway Co. ledger page covered in original Plains Indian Ledger Art Drawings from a large 1800’s Ledger Art collection along with other drawings from this ledger. The ledger page is covered in original pencil and colored pencil Indian Ledger Art drawing showing three Plains Indian warriors on horse back, two with a war shield and two with bows. The shield shows a Maltese Cross and four-point Morning Star. There is a drawing of a rattle snake at the bottom, likely the signature. Dated July 1879. The piece is from the same collection as the Blemmingham Ledger book collection, the very same as the 1890-1891 Buffalo Kill Ledger sold in 2022 by NAAC for $2,016 and the 1879 Cleveland and Mahoning Railway Ledger drawing that sold in NAAC’s March 2024 auction for $1250 (shown w/ bp). The original ledger is dated to circa 1879, the artwork appears to be of an older age but exact age is unknown. There is some folding, cracking and tears but displays beautifully. Measures overall 14” by 10 7/8 when laid out and 3.5” by 9.75” when folded.
