Featured in this lot is this collection of relish or oyster dishes from the Oriental Saloon with a purple hue to the dishes circa 1880's and was donated from the original family that owned the Bus Station and Gift Shop back in the 1950's and displayed at the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are two relish dishes in this collection that shows a purple hue to the glass consistent with manganese dioxide and comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: 1880's Dishes from the Oriental Saloon Lunch Room. The dishes come complete with a letter of provenance that is signed by John Wooten the son of Jack Wooten who purchased them from Mrs. Snider who purchased them from the original owner from the preserved wooden shipping box from San Francisco (the dishes do not come with the shipping box). The second page of provenance is written and signed by Stephen K. Elliot confirming the authentication of these dishes by first hand experience seeing a business card from the John Gilcriese collection of "The Oriental Oyster Room - Fifth & Allen"; Mr. Elliot believes and is satisfied that the people involved in the provenance are honest and the information is accurate. The condition of these two relish dishes is well well preserved and shows no obvious signs of damage and shows no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of these dishes is 7/8" x 5 1/4" x 2 3/4".
