Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Cochise Co. A.T. "Gaming License" circa 1881; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This is a official gaming license on official City License, City Auditor's Office letterhead received by J.A. Kelly on May 30,1881 for the business of 2 Billiard Tables for a term of 2 months and signed by then acting mayor George Pridham. George A. Pridham was a member of Tombstone's first Common Council, which convened its inaugural meeting on January 12, 1881. Pridham's civic involvement extended beyond his business ventures. He served on Tombstone's first Common Council, which held its inaugural meeting on January 12, 1881. This role underscored his commitment to the town's governance and development during a pivotal period in its history. The gaming license comes with an original museum tag that reads as follows: 1881 City License for 2 Billiard Tables, signed by George Pridham. The condition of this Tombstone, gambling license is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some slight browning to the pages consistent with its age. The measurements of this gaming license is 4 1/2" x 7 3/4". TTD-21
