Featured in this lot is this Cochise County Bank notes or checks from Tombstone, Arizona Territory circa 1884-1889; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are a total of nine checks in this collection. The first check is dated April 16th, 1884 and paid to the order of John Watts Esquire and signed by the cashier at First National Bank. The second check is dated May 20th, 1884 paid to the order of George Goad and signed by the Treasurer. The third check is dated March 29th, 1889 and paid to the order of cash withdrawal and signed by the cashier on duty. The next check is dated April 16th, 1884 and paid to the order of J.A. Folgen & Co. and signed by the cashier at the First National Bank. The next check is dated May 3rd, 1884 and paid to the order of Miss Kate Witch and signed by the cashier at the First National Bank. The next check is dated June 28th, 1889 and paid to the order of "myself" signed by Edw. D. Tuttle from Cochise County Bank. The next check is dated June 24th, 1889 and paid to the order of "myself" and signed by the cashier in the bottom right hand corner. The last check is dated Dec. 6th, 1889 and paid to the order of Rogers Bros for $75.00 and signed by Mrs. Lionel Jacobs as cashier in the bottom right hand corner. The condition of this collection of Arizona bank notes or checks is well preserved with used check holes resent and some browning to the checks consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this collection of checks ranges from 2 7/8" x 7 1/4" to 3 5/8" x 8 1/2".
